Construction Administration Architect

We are seeking an experienced Construction Administration Manager to be responsible for working with the Construction Administration team members and oversee the execution and management of construction administration processes for a well-established multidisciplinary design firm to work in their Austin or San Antonio office. 

  • Template and procedure improvement to actively refine and enhance existing templates and procedures for efficiency.
  • Training and support on  processes for all relevant employees.
  • Project Collaboration with Project Managers, Architects, and Contract Administrators to optimize project execution during the Construction Administration (CA) phase.
  • Contract interpretation between owners and contractors.
  • Compliance Tracking to monitor and ensure adherence to architectural and owner contractual requirements, holding the team accountable.
  • Communication Verification to confirm that project status and issues are effectively communicated to Project Managers and Principals.
  • Ensure internal CA Handoff Meeting is conducted for each project, supporting the Project Manager in leading discussions with all necessary team members, including the Director of Construction Administration.
  • Reporting necessary data as required.
  • Resource Management in balancing staffing and project assignments in coordination with the Director of Construction Administration.
  • Recruitment Support to assist the Director of Construction Administration in the hiring process.

WHAT IT TAKES TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE:

  • BS in Construction Science or Engineering or Architecture or any applicable degree program required.
  • 5+ years of construction or design experience preferred.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Understanding of the multiple phases of the project lifecycle: relationship, proposal, contract, preconstruction, construction, warranty, etc.
  • Strong, comprehensive knowledge of architectural principles/practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction and AIA documents.
  • Microsoft Office software knowledge and experience with Newforma and Procore is a plus.
