Summary of Position
The Architectural Project Architect/Coordinator acts as a Team Lead, and is responsible for the planning, organizing and supervising the project Construction Documents. Establishes and monitors all technical requirements, manages the project CD team, and prepares schedules to ensure efficient use of resources. Oversees development of drawings and specifications. The Project Architect is responsible for coordination with consultants and has the authority to direct, control, and monitor their activities. Must have comprehensive knowledge of technical aspects of architecture and engineering.
The Project Architect must demonstrate professional skills, high standards, sound judgment and professionalism. The Project Architect will pass knowledge to others and support a continuous learning environment. Team building and motivation are also key responsibilities.
Major Responsibilities
- Formalizes and prioritizes the task involved in producing Construction Documents.
- Conveys the directions from the Project Manager to all CD team members.
- Ensures that the project conforms to the contractual technical requirements and Authorities Having Jurisdiction.
- Effectively manages project CD budget to ensure profitability.
- Effectively manages project to ensure completion of CD’s within allocated time constraints.
- Maintains ongoing, positive and productive relationship with consultants.
- Effectively and proactively coaches, mentors, and provides performance-enhancing feedback to CD team members.
- Implements the firm’s processes to reduce risks and ensure uniform quality in all production of the CD’s.
- Ensures the CD’s demonstrate efficiency, quality assurance and code compliance.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of Bachelor degree in Architecture with NAAB Accredited Professional Bachelor or Masters degree preferred.
- Licensed Architect or in process of licensure through NCARB.
- 4-7 years of professional architecture experience.
- 3+ years of Multifamily project experience
- Experience and ability to produce full sets of Construction Documents.
- Must have the ability to manage small groups.
- Skill in motivating and inspiring others is helpful.
- Basic presentation skills, both verbal and graphic, are required.
- Must be proficient with AutoCAD.
- Revit proficiency preferred.
- Travel may be required.
