Construction Administration Architect

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or Masters’ in Architecture from an accredited program
  • 15 to 20 year’s previous experience performing full or part time construction administration on projects of various scales and budgets
  • Ability to mentor teams regarding construction practices and how to improve the Contract Documents
  • Quality communication and leadership skills
  • Understanding of how to navigate through all portions of the Contract Documents including drawings, specifications and contracts, and the ability to coordinate with engineering consultants
  • Familiarity with building components especially exterior envelope and MEP systems
  • Passion for Quality Control
  • Comfortable and confident managing multiple clients and projects in the CA phase
  • Strong management and organizational skills as relates to the CA process
  • Familiarity with Cost Estimating and performing takeoffs, and navigating cost guide resources (RS Means)
  • Additional skills: Technical Detailing | Contract language | Outlook | MS Office Suite | Etc.
  • Strong language & writing skills, self-motivated, ability to achieve goals and deadlines

Highlighted Daily Task of the Position:
  • Prime point of contact to clients & contractors during construction
  • Building and maintaining relationships with new and existing clients, and ensuring client satisfaction
  • Manage the construction process to comply with deadlines and goals
  • Manage construction from start to finish to ensure high quality, and that documents are being followed
  • Monitor timelines and staffing needs to get assistance where needed
  • Mentoring of junior staff members on CA procedures
  • Ensure that all projects are carried out to standards and guidelines
  • Make site visits to participate in job meetings and field reports
  • Provide daily management of CA tasks
  • Coordination with the project design team on decisions related to the Contract Documents
