Architectural and Design Specifications Manager

We are seeking an Architectural and Design Specifications/Sales Manager for a growing plumbing and lighting company in their North Texas territory, working out of their office in the North Dallas area. 


Job Description and Responsibilities:
  • Meet the expectations for showroom displays, merchandizing, and performance of our manufacturers for their products in all showroom and selection centers in the market.  This is a multi-prong approach of understanding expectations, developing a strategy to meet the expectations, prioritizing execution steps to complete the necessary tasks, performing to those expectations, and communicating proactively the efforts used in meeting those expectations.
  • Develop, maintain, and utilize a market plan to pursue single family and commercial lighting and plumbing sales opportunities by working with hospitality and multifamily designers.
  • Analyze market and continuously present management with feedback to market conditions, opportunities, strategies, competitive issues.
  • Develop and maintain a key account list on CRM that includes contacts, phone numbers, email addresses, street addresses.  List will include top:
    • Designers, custom builders & remodelers, architects, specifiers for hospitality, multifamily and single family.
  • Facilitate pertinent communication to all team members including sales associates and management, manufacturers, and customers.  You are to become the pivotal communication and motivation element for decorative product initiatives within your peer group and the industry. 
  • Sell through to showroom related clients such as residential and commercial designers, and any other customer who utilizes showroom facilities or connections to make product selections.
    • Utilize showroom relationships to gain connections to end users, designers, and specifiers
    • Develop an atmosphere of support for your products with these connective customers
  • Recognize that we must provide extensive Product Knowledge training in order to get the desired results from our customers 
  • Keep all showrooms updated and fresh
  • Provide and replenish literature and catalogs
  • Seek preferred showroom positions for all of our products
  • Maintain a healthy and positive attitude at all times
  • Develop and work with two tier support level for showrooms
    • In primary markets, this is the sole responsibility of the ADM to develop relationships, convey product impressions, drive sales, update and position displays, participate in industry events, and all levels of support.  Primary markets include Dallas Fort Worth Metro (North Texas ADM), Greater Houston Metro (Houston ADM), Austin and San Antonio (Central Texas ADM).   ADM should be in major showrooms every other week and secondary showrooms at least once per month.
    • In secondary markets, the ADM must visit locations AT LEAST once per quarter.  During these visits, ADM must make arrangements to keep displays attractive, well placed, and maintained in accordance with the expectations and standards set forth by the manufacturers.  ADM must set the agenda for growing the business at these accounts, develop a plan with local TM and SA to support the locations, hold team accountable for completing assigned tasks, and drive sales.
  • Track all showroom activity and maintain a database on customers and contacts
  • Complete required reports and requested feedback in a manner that is satisfactory and within the requested time parameters
  • ADM is responsible for 100% of the coordination and planning of showroom resets and updates. 

Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree strongly preferred
  • Basic computers skills with working proficiencies in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Power Bi and CRM software
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with customers, manufacturers, managers and peers
  • Presentation skills with the ability to speak in front of small to medium sized groups
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Limited travel required within territory
  • Must be flexible to maximize business opportunities as they arise
  • Listening skills, communication skills, energy, enthusiasm and endurance
