Mid-level Interior Designer - Education projects

Develops creative conceptual, schematic and design development solutions. Displays the ability to work with the Senior Project Designer and Senior Interior Designer to study design options and present to the team. Provides assistance throughout the design process which may include basic design plans, construction contract documents, elevations and details, reflected ceiling plans, millwork design, furniture layouts, ergonomic dimensions, finish plans, color plans and schedules.
EDUCATION | LICENSURE
  • Professional degree in Interior Design.
  • Professional registration preferred but not required.
EXPERIENCE
  • 2-8 Years with 2+ years of experience with Educational project types. 
  • Proficiency in Revit, graphic design, and 3D visualization software.
  • Intermediate understanding of design principles and theory, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to collaborate with team members and follow instructions.
DESIGN
  • Applies intermediate elements and principles of design.
  • Basic understanding of form, scale, color, texture, and pattern.
  • Basic understanding of light, balance, and proportion.
  • Applies established interior design standards.
  • Assists in the development of design solutions for review.
  • Assists with aids such as finish boards or PPT presentations.

TECHNICAL
  • Performs intermediate drawing documentation.
  • Researches custom interior products.
  • Maintains resource materials.
  • Exposed to interior design specifications and industry standards.

MANAGEMENT
  • Organizes and plans accordingly to execute tasks.
  • Self-checks work for accuracy, omissions, and legibility.
  • Takes accountability and ownership for job functions.
  • Participates in marketing efforts.
  • May lead design presentations to prospective clients.
  • Works alongside functional organization of the project team.
