Conditions Assessment Architect

Overview
The Senior Associate manages assessment projects for investor and institutional clients, supervising subconsultants and internal staff in the performance of site reconnaissance, condition analysis, report writing, and advisory service. Senior Associates are typically experts in at least one building system, and support other internal staff on their projects related to that system when necessary. After successfully performing in this role, the candidate will be considered to fill various department leadership positions that are quickly emerging in our growing organization, including Vice President-Assessments.

General Authority
The Senior Associate reports to a Director or Principal. The Senior Associate may supervise others on an administrative level, as well as on a project level.

Key Accountabilities
  • Organize assigned projects, contact clients, schedule and plan the projects
  • Engage the project teams, consisting of company staff and consultants as appropriate, create project schedules and resource allocations
  • Organize and coordinate document collection, travel, and on-site activities
  • Conduct inventories of equipment and building components
  • Prepare cost estimates for prescribed remediation and asset replacements
  • Set up and populate a proprietary database account or an Excel spreadsheet
  • Manage photographic images and incorporate them into a report document
  • Review contractor reports and propose edits as appropriate
  • Serve as primary contact with client, providing oral and/or written briefings
  • Prepare executive summaries, compile the report document
  • Present and interpret findings to the client and its governing committees
  • Implement project closeout, prepare invoices
  • As an expert in a building system, consult to others on staff on specific technical questions

Skill Requirements
  • Technical writing proficiency
  • Professional knowledge of at least one major building system, gained through work experience
  • Management of project teams, departments, or profit centers
  • Knowledge and proficiency in using Microsoft Office 365 Suite
  • Knowledge of CMMS software is a plus
  • Leadership, collaboration, communication skills and inclinations

Experience and Qualifications
  • 4-year professional degree in Architecture, Architectural or Electrical Engineering, Construction
  • 5+ years of experience in design, project management, facility management, or construction
  • Registered Architect or ability to become registered within a year of employment preferred. 
  • Technology user-level proficiency
  • Background in managing technical and professional staff on an administrative level
  • Physically able to climb, lift, carry, walk substantial distances, work in all weather conditions
